Ume kebubu, the traditional house in West Timor They have no windows, a one meter high doorway and the locals cook their food inside the house. Some still sleep in the ume kebubu. For us, not used to it, it's very smoky. The government tries to encourage them to build new houses, which is usually built in front of the old one. But here they only have the old ume kebubu.
